Hi! My name is Aaron Powers. I am from Sacramento originally but have found my home here in beautiful Folsom. From a young age, my family and I were always active, from spending time running around in the backyard, riding bikes, lots of basketball, skateboarding, to eventually discovering the bench press at the age of 15. Once I tried it I was hooked! And so for the last 25 years, fitness has been my thing and I love doing it! I found lots of benefits to exercise, including the physical, mental, and emotional and with how much research is available to confirm the profound changes that can occur, not only with our body and mind, but the positive ripple effect it can have on the rest of our life and those we share it with. The changes we seek in our body, whether it be for muscle growth, cardio training, core development, or just wanting to tone up, are all possible and you can make it happen! I have continued my studies of fitness and achieved my NASM NCCA accredited certificate as a personal trainer, CPR/AED certified, as well as currently completing a NASM nutrition course. I have also collaborated with a local golf coach Dan Awe (https://www.instagram.com/awegolf/) We have designed specific workouts to help add more power and mobility to your game!
Dan is a 3D Body Motion expert, a former long drive competitor, a short game & putting specialist with 15,000 lessons given.
With my personal philosophy being “always a student,” I’m excited to continue my journey of learning about health and wellness and I hope to be a part of your journey as we work together to achieve your goals!

I got into the restaurant industry at the age of 20 and was sucked into that lifestyle for the next 7 years. In 2013 I decided to change my life and stop drinking, that’s when I got back into health and fitness and my life change forever. I remained in the industry for the next 7 years until covid hit and I decided to change my industry. I was hired on as the GM of Title Boxing Midtown Sacramento and that’s where I began training and coaching. I fell in love with the sport of boxing and helping people change their lives. Long story short there is nothing more satisfying then helping others achieve their goals and change their stars. I’m here to help, any way I can. My clients are very important to me.

My name is Carissa and I am a trainer here at Self-Made Folsom. I have 7-years of experience in the fitness industry. I played volleyball all through high-school and after I was done, I needed another outlet. That’s when I discovered weight training. I fell in love with training and the challenge. As I progressed, I wanted to use my knowledge to help others. I liked helping others be the best version of themselves, I didn’t know how I would do that. Once I was certified, I discovered this was my purpose. I needed to be out there helping as many people as I could. Once I started training people, I’ve had the opportunity to help a wide variety of people get to their best selves.

Hi everyone,

My name is Colin. I’ve worked in the fitness industry for four years, but fitness has been a huge part of my life for nearly two decades.

I first started working as a swim coach at 16 where I discovered a passion for coaching and teaching. A few years later, I joined the military where I spent just under seven years serving in the Army. It was here that I learned about how fitness goes far beyond looking good in the mirror – as one coach I follow put it “fitness is the physical freedom to do whatever you want”.

Fitness and sound training principles are what allowed me, an average high school swimmer, to take my military career to the next level and perform in some of the most high-stress environments in the world.

Not only that, training smarter has kept me physically fit and healthy since transitioning out of the military, allowing me to keep doing the activities I love to do without being afraid of getting injured, and maintaining focus and mental acuity.

So, who do I work with? I coach adults who are burnt out from struggling with how to juggle it all and are ready to learn how to take control of their fitness and health. There is no shortage of terrible fitness information floating around the internet. My goal is to help you navigate through the noise and start training in a way that is both safe and effective.

When you ditch the motivational videos and create a solid, well-designed plan built around movement, sustainable nutrition, and recovery, you’d be amazed at the things you can do both inside and outside of the gym.
